Pickup Character
The GTR SX platform runs the same Nunchucker / Old School pairing as our Australian-made guitars, wound in Korea to identical specs, so you're not trading tone for accessibility.
The Nunchucker is Ormsby's most popular bridge pickup for rock, hard rock, and metal. Moderate output that's low enough to retain clarity but hot enough to drive your amplifier, with the AlNiCo 8 magnet and adjustable slug poles giving it a little extra bite. It stays present and defined whether you're pushing rhythm parts or pushing gain, and on a 7-string it keeps the extended low end controlled rather than loose.
Modern rock and metal rhythm, tight palm-mutes on the 7th string, punchy leads, and anything that needs to cut through a dense mix.
Fast attack, controlled low end, and a bridge voice that stays present and alive under gain.
A low output single coil voiced for clean jazz and blues style. Sweet singing lead tones and clean rhythm clarity that gives the SX a genuine second character when you flip the toggle. The AlNiCo 2 magnet keeps the tone warm and open, and the push/pull coil split on the tone pot opens up additional voices across the 3-way switch.
