Australian production
Choose how far you want to take it.
Every Australian-made Ormsby is built by our specialist team in Perth. The difference is how much control you want over the final instrument.
CUSTOM SHOP
The fullest expression of what we build.
Custom Shop instruments are handcrafted by Perry and our specialist team in Perth. Shape, timbers, construction, hardware, electronics and finish are developed around the player.
This is the path for a genuinely one-off instrument and the closest collaboration with our workshop.
FACTORY CUSTOM
Custom-built, with a clear starting point.
Factory Custom instruments are handcrafted in Perth using an established Ormsby model and a curated set of available choices. You retain control over the character of the guitar without beginning with a completely blank page.
How it works
- Select your model. Choose from the models currently open for Factory Custom orders.
- Choose the series. Select an available finish direction or limited range.
- Select your timbers. Available choices are matched to the model and production window.
- Choose the details. Confirm colour, hardware, controls and pickup options.
- Place your deposit. Our team will contact you to confirm the final specification.
Factory Custom completion is generally estimated at 6 to 9 months from final design confirmation. Core body shape, scale length and base-model architecture remain fixed.
Black Friday range
A limited Factory Custom series built by our Perth team around a dark, sandblasted finish direction.
- Sandblasted Swamp Ash body in black with a choice of grain colour
- Black-stained Flame Maple neck
- Black Ebony fretboard without inlays
- Black Ormsby hardware
- Choice of Custom Shop pickups
Availability, models, string counts and options are confirmed when each order window opens.
FACTORY STANDARD
Small-batch Australian production with the specification already resolved.
Factory Standard began after we moved into our expanded workshop in 2022 and launched publicly at NAMM in April 2023.
Each release is announced as a limited batch with a defined model, string count, specification, finish and price. There are no configurable options, allowing the Perth team to maintain tighter control over materials, scheduling and consistency.
Why build in-house?
- Direct selection and inspection of materials
- Closer control over manufacturing timeframes
- Final setup and quality control by the same workshop team
The finish tiers
Factory Standard models use a consistent three-tier finish system. Model letters change across Hypemachine, Kaseki and Roxy, while the material direction remains familiar.
Tier 1: H1, K1, R1
Solid colour with a satin finish.
Tier 2: H2, K2, R2
Transparent colour over Swamp Ash.
Tier 3: H3, K3, R3
Exotic Flame Maple presentation.
Available models, colours, string counts, pricing and complete specifications are listed with each release in the webstore.
PERRY'S CHOICE
Built without a brief.
Perry's Choice instruments are rare, completed one-off builds where Perry selects every element, from model and timber through to electronics and finish.
There is no order form and no configuration stage. The finished guitar is released only when it is ready, making each one a direct expression of the workshop at that moment.
